There is a demand for Goelia leasebacks. Please use the “SELL MY LEASEBACK” option if you are interested. Note if you do sell during the lease you will likely receive less than you paid, but the law has changed so you no longer have to pay back the VAT which was initially refunded to you when you first bought the property and the buyer pays all legal fees.

Hi Seamus. I have been browsing through your site and I must complement you and other participants for the
information and updates on French Leasebacks. Our lease is due to expire in October 2019 with Goelia
( 10 years of a 20 year leaseback).
Goelia our Management Company have been running the complex for the past 8 years and they have been an
excellent Company to deal with from the out set. They have always paid our rental income on time. Our wish is
to sell the property at the end of this lease period, hopefully to another leaseback owner. There are a few questions,
I would like clarification on.
(1) If we sell our property to another leaseback owner, are we exempt from paying the remaining of the vat due
( 10 years ) pro rata to French Revenue? The lease would be continued by the new owner after October 2019.
(2) If we sell the property to another leaseback owner, are we liable for eviction compensation to Goelia our
Management Company as we have not renewed our lease with them?
(3) What are the average fees / percentage of sale price of property payable to Estate Agents for selling our
property?

We are with Goelia in Residence du Golf Carantec Brittany. We just completed the sale of our property this week with the money for the sale showing in our Bank of Ireland account this morning. We got out showing a minor loss over the 14 years we were involved in leaseback. But I count my blessing as I've seen some horror stories of others experiences . Best of luck to anyone still holding.
