Chamrousse- L'ecrin des Neiges

17 October 2007

Hi there,

I was wondering if there are many people on this forum who have bought an apartment in L'ecrin des Neiges? I did and was there in February and all seemed well at the time?

Obviously with unexpected bills now being sent our way, rental payments not being made and the management company potentially bankrupt, things aren't so well.

I understand that there is a residents committee for Chamrousse but this is not for the above development.

Leaseback contracts

6 October 2007

Have any leaseback owners been contacted to try and change the terms of their contract with regard to capping the amount of rent received? This is being attempted in my case. According to the management company, this is necessary to prevent future financial problems with the property. I am trying to find out if this company is the only one foreseeing future problems or is it a problem generally with other leaseback companies.

Claiming VAT before 5 years

26 September 2007

Hi there,

I am looking at a property completed under 5 years ago that, when purchased, was included in the "Leaseback allowed" developments. For some reason or other the current owner did not claim the VAT back. She did however enter into a rental agreement similar to the one that you would expect in a leaseback agreement. My question is- If i buy the apartment before 5 years is up can i claim the VAT back on the original purchase price if i continue the lease agreement?

Cheers

Paul

Nendaz and Transmontagne in Switzerland

9 September 2007

Does anyone have any information on Transmontagne and its involvement in developments in Switzerland. I am in the process of buying an apartment in a development called Pracondu 2 in Nedaz in the Valais region in Switzerland. This is a leaseback scheme and the lessee is a company called Alpvision which is owned 90% by Transmontagne. We have been assured by Savills and Genvalco (the builder) that Alpvision is a ring fenced subsidiary of Transmontagne and is not and will not be affected the the Transmontagne insolvency.

Dim light at end of the Tunnel

8 August 2007

Hi I am a Newbee on the forum and I have been directed here by Joan O'Sullivan and I was delighted when I received her letter today. I was thinking I was on my own in this mess. I have 2 Apartments in Chamrousse bought through the very unhelpful French Property Ireland. However they have passed me through C'est La Vie Properties whom to be fair are doing their best and translate every relevant document and have helped complete my tax returns etc.
