new rent agreement in english only ...is this legal in France ?

6 Avril 2016

I was forced in to agreeing to take lower rent last year for my apartment and was just sent a 2 page piece of paper written in English saying the rent would now be 35% lower which I was to sign and send back to the Management Company . It also said that the rest of the lease would remain the same . Does anyone know if this piece of paper could be legal or not as all the other lease papers etc., are in French and nothing in English . I cannot find an Irish Solicitor to tell me if it is legal or not ?

Thanks

Any Sign of Legal Action Il -- A further call for information

12 Mars 2016

I am starting a new thread on this whole issue again:

Two simple questions to the many hundreds/thousands of people who I know read this forum:

1. Are there any owners out there who have now concluded legal proceedings in France (or elsewhere)

alleging fraud/mis-selling during the sales process or at some stage thereafter ?.

Syndic cost

22 Février 2016

Hi,

wondering what other owners in leaseback resorts pay in Syndic charges (common area charges) ?

Also, wondering how water charges are handled at other resorts ?

Our charges are circa €1,984 for 2016.

This is for a Syndic that has no buildings whatsoever. No pools, no electric gates, no lifts..

Le Fonserane Beziers

1 Février 2016

Are there any owners of studios at Le Fonserane Beziers out there?

We have gone from being managed by Village Center to MMV to Vacanceole and finally Serifos!!!!

The rent has gone down along the way as well as the property.  To our horror we found out last year

that our studio is used as a store room and for spare parts.  It is a mess. The manager does not see this as

a problem.  We have written to Opaleo, Vacanceole and the Fonserane Association - no replies.

Resale of french leaseback advice?

27 Janvier 2016

HI,

I wondered if anyone has recently successfully sold their leaseback property? If so, what loss are they making? We have started the process of getting ours up for sale with an agency but because rental yields are less than they had been it means had to drop the price by 40k approx. Would love to hear of anyone who has had experience of resell and what to expect in terms of price. I know that I will never get back the price that was paid for it but want to be sure that am not underselling too.

Thanks for any advice,

/Martina
