In April this year my husband and I bought a leaseback property in Torcy Paris through Imoinvest and now have the deeds in our possession.
i have recently bought a leaseback studio in Torcy near Paris. I am not sure whether or not I or the accountant is to apply for the TVA.I have written to the accountant on two occasions but she does not answer my e mails. I have found that the French do not answer most of the time and when they do they don not reply to the questions asked. I am finding this very frustrating.
I have recently returned from a frantic drive round a few developments and areas in the Alps. Seamus asked me to post some comments, so hopefully this may be of use to others who are looking around.
One thing is certain, the Alps are beautiful wherever you go. I started in Pralongnan la Vanoise, a lovely unspoiled village, great for climbers and walkers. Sadly for me the skiing was limited, although it is a short drive from Courcheval, if you fancy that every day.

Hi everyone. Great idea, this forum. I'm in the process of buying my first French leaseback. I'm treating it as an adventure because it's been a patience tester. Still, I'm hoping that I'll have all the issues sorted out before I get my next one.
My daft question is, does anyone know of a mortgage provider in France who will lend against property in the UK? Obviously, the interest rate is the magnet.
Who regulates the vendors of these leaseback schemes? How can I be sure that my deposit will be safe while I wait for the contracts to be issued? If I have a complaint about the agent, who do I complain to in the future to ensure performance of the contract?
You mentioned, Seamas a company called Imoinvest. How did you hear of them and how have you found them to deal with?
Has anybody purchased more then one unit?Is it very difficult to obtain mortgages for subsequent purchases even if each purchase is a breakeven situation,ie 40% deposit.Do french banks rely entirely on income other than rental income?Is it possible to build a portfolio of leasebacks?

We visited Pinede at Cap Negre. The setting is nothing short of sensational. It is on the east of the cap among the trees and looking down on the beach, to which you have direct access. The downside, as with every good location, is that it is very, very expensive per sq metre. But, if it's a knockout setting you're looking for......
Word of warning - make your arrangments with Seamus before you go as there are some seriously pushy sales people there who try to get you to sign up there and then.
I am buying a leaseback apartment through another agent with whom I'm having difficulty getting answers to all my questions. This may be because they are French and there is a bit of a language problem. So I hope you don't mind me asking a general one here. I have a translation of the lease agreement which all seems very complex. There are different clauses in it which for example state that I can do such and such if the managment company does such and such. Sorry for being so vague. But I was just wondering how legally binding this is.
