summer 2009 for residences in France

9 September 2009

Liability for payment if Lease taken over

27 August 2009

Hi

I think I read somwhere that if a Lease is taken over from a company (not in recivership) then both the former company and current one become jointly liable for rent. Does anyone know if this is the case?

We are in this position the new copmpany have not paid the rent and I wonder who we should go after for this - any thoughts would be appreciated

French Property Ex - London 11-13/09/09

26 August 2009

I have today been contacted and told that there is a French property Exhibition of at Olympia from the 11th to the 13th of September 2009.

I am trying to get together a group of investors to hand out leaflets to people attending identifying the downfalls of the leaseback system. I am prepared to fund the leaflets out of my own pocket and set up a website to give more details.

This will be a case of handing out leaflets and contacting the people at Olympia to let them know how and why we are doing this.

Any takers?

Euribor

23 July 2009

Hi,

This is probably an easy one. Am I correct to think that because the Euribor rate has gone down then this will bring down that my mortgage rate when it is recalculated in November.? my mortgage is with Barclays / barifimmo and varies according to the Euribor rate.

tax fonciere

20 July 2009

Hi,

I bought a French Leaseback Property in 2005. For the first few years the tax fonciere was about €62 but for 2008 I was billed for €366. Was this a a mistake? Eventually I paid it plus penalties in the hope that I would get it back if it was a mistake. Anybody else get a similar bill? What should I do?

Thanks,

Refinance your mortgage

17 July 2009

Recently, French banks have been increasing their range of products and introducing competitive rates. New options like capped interest rates and interest-only have been introduced.

If you want to

  • Change to type of your mortgage
  • Get a more competitive interest rate
  • Change the term of your mortgage

you can now refinance your mortgage.

If you have any question about refinancing, please feel free to contact me.

Any ideas on mortgage?

1 July 2009

I am normally a UK resident and do still pay some tax in

the UK, however for the last 2.5 years I have been in South

Africa and do intend to return in about 2 years.

In the meantime I am looking at a leaseback property in in

France...

Assuming good financial state of affairs, what does anyone

think is the likelihood of my getting approval for a

mortgage for this? Anyone suggest what would be the best

company to approach?

Thanks.
