easiest way to get money to france?

9 Décembre 2007

what is the easiest, cheapest and most pain free way to get money from the U.K. into a french bank account. possibly in the region of £200 3 times a year???

I thought linking a Paypal account to our french account would be simple. but a u.k. Paypal account cannot be linked to a french bank account and you cannot open a french Paypal account without a personal French address....

any ideas / answers please

expected bills

9 Décembre 2007

Following the arrival of a couple of costly bills that turned out to be bills i did not have to pay at all, what bills should we as leaseback property owners pay? Some people may be paying for bills they do not need to pay.

The first bill following a phone call was "an error, please ignore it" !!!!

the second was this week a tax d'habitation bill (as in the other topic in this forum) that too is one that not payable by us.

bills off the top of my head we are paying are:

first is obvious- Mortgage repayments

legal advice and leasebacks

7 Décembre 2007

We are just starting the process of buying a leaseback through IMOinvest. We have had various documents sent to us (preliminary reservation contract in french and English, notice decriptive logement and bail commercial) and I am sure there will be more to come.

Can anyone advise us as to whether it is advisable to seek French speaking UK legal advice through the process?

La Joue du Loup / Superdevoluy

21 Novembre 2007

Following the collapse of Transmontagne an association of co-proprietors (ASCODEV) has been formed to protect the rights and look after the interests of owners at La Joue du Loup and Superdevoluy.

The association has set up a website (see link below) where members can leave messages and the association can pass information to its members. The site is conducted in French, however, several of the very helpful members are translating and forwarding important documents and information to the UK owners.

Taxe d'habitation

20 Novembre 2007

Got a nasty surprise today - a Taxe d'habitation + Redevance Audivisuelle 2007 request for nearly 800 euros!

I understood that the occupier of a property is liable for the Habitation tax and for my leaseback that would be the tenant or more correctly the management company Suites Etudes. I never received any Habitation tax request for 2006 so I'm assuming it's a mistake and have written to the Centre Des Impots.

How much tax do I pay?

16 Novembre 2007

Hi

I have a few quick questions:

1. If my rent including VAT is 6,600 and my mortgage is 10,000 per year (a 3,400 deficit) how much tax do I pay to the french govt.

2. Do I need to have an accountant or can I do my returns myself? If I need one how much do they cost and does anyone know of a good one who doesn't rip you off?

thanks

Terrence

18 Octobre 2007

Hello forgive me for huge subject heading (I'm a newbie)! I'm thinking of purchasing an apartment on the leaseback scheme and some of the contract details have been released as follows:

The rent will represent fifty percent (50%) of the pre-tax rental income (rent collected) received by the MANAGEMENT COMPANYOPERATING COMPANY during the past year, calculated starting from the date the lease takes effect, for all of Building A used as a Tourist Residence,

Accountant company

17 Octobre 2007

Hi,

What costs except landtax and cost to the accountant do I have to pay each year? Can anyone recommend a reliable and not to expensive accountant company? What is the "normal" fee per year to the accountant company for a 30 kvm apartment in Paris area?

If I don´t renew the lease after the first period and want to change from leaseback to a normal property and have it for my own (or sell). Is it the management company that decide if I may do so or is it the mayor, that I read somewhere?

Best Rgds
