What happens when the Lease Operator Files for Bankcruptcy

7 July 2019

The Operator of our Residence for Tourism proposed to lower the lease rate;  we rejected it. They  filed for bankcruptcyand stopped paying  rents to the owners. The current lease period expires on September 30, 2019. The judge has appointed aConciliator. What happens now? What courses of action do we have to: 1). get rent payments from the Operator? 2). to break theLease so we can  rent or sell our apartments ourselves? 3). To find a new Operator to take over the Lease and operate theResidence? 4). What costs (expenses) can we anticipate paying? 5).

TV program on foreign property for RTE

7 June 2019

Hi,

a TV production company is planning a piece for RTE called 'Burnt by the Sun', due to air in the Autumn. They are looking for Irish owners who have experienced issues with foreign property purchases (take your pick!) to contribute.

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring this issue to the fore and provide for some serious pressure on the consumer protection authorities, in particular the EU Commission and the French authorities.

UK tax accountant

29 May 2019

Does anyone have a UK tax accountant they can recommend who understands French Leaseback?  HMRC have sent me something saying I should be paying more tax in UK and I don't think I should be.  I would like to take professional advice before getting back to them.

Thanks for any help you can give!
